Could Counselling Help You?

  • Do you often feel anxious & depressed?
  • Do you feel worthless and low in confidence?
  • Are you troubled by painful or traumatic memories?
  • Do you feel stuck in self-defeating patterns of behaviour?
  • Do you feel pressure to please others, saying “yes” when you want to say “no”?
  • Do you worry a lot, feeling insecure & unprepared for the demands of adult life?
  • Are you searching for meaning in life and an answer to the question “Who am I”?

If these questions resonate, I can help you.

Why Do I Feel This Way?

It’s not unusual to sometimes feel overwhelmed, lost, or “not good enough.” These feelings may grow out of childhood experiences like neglect, criticism, abuse or insecure attachments with caregivers. They may also arise from later challenges – loss, trauma, or the burden of always putting others first. And sometimes, the reasons are harder to name.

Whatever the source, therapy offers a space to begin untangling these patterns and to deepen your understanding of yourself. Together, we can explore your experiences so you can move forward with greater self-compassion and build more fulfilling connections in your life.

Book your first consultation session today and take an empowering step toward healing and growth.

“Having experienced therapy several times, I believe that it is the work with Gabrielle that has been the most pivotal and transformative.” – Emma

Psychotherapeutic Counselling

My Approach

I work relationally and integratively, drawing on Humanistic, Gestalt, Person-Centred, and psychodynamic models, with a strong foundation in attachment theory. At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship itself – a safe space where you can untangle past experiences, find new ways of relating, and begin to heal.

My Specialisms

I’ve dedicated over 30 years to supporting people, in wider caring roles and as a counsellor and psychotherapist. My own experience of therapy inspired my path, and my long-standing Buddhist mindfulness practice underpins how I work.

Inner Child Therapy

Helping your inner child feel safe, so you can thrive.

Many of us carry childhood wounds that still shape how we respond to life today. Inner child therapy offers a way to reconnect with the parts of you that were hurt, neglected, or left behind, listen to their story, and let them know the hard times have passed.

Together, we can ease your inner child’s burden, and free you to live more fully in the present.

Mindfulness

Find calm and clarity in the present moment.

Mindfulness can help ease the spin of thoughts and bring you back to a steady, clear awareness. In counselling, I weave in simple practices – like meditation, breath work, or tuning into the body – to support stress relief, anxiety management and emotional balance.

Together, we can explore what feels right for you, supporting you to nurture a kinder, more curious relationship with yourself.

Testimonials

“Gabrielle has been hugely helpful to me over recent months as I’ve tried to come to terms with the complicated loss of a parental relationship. Her understanding and warmth have allowed us in our meetings to examine difficult feelings in what’s felt like a very safe environment. I have come away from the experience feeling much more able to live with the situation and the complex feelings that will inevitably at times arise.”

Sarah

“Thank you so much for everything you done for me. My confidence and self-esteem was on the floor when I came to you and your kindness, warmth and compassion have helped build me back up again. I never thought there could be a way through it just seemed like so many problems. But even though some of the problems haven’t gone away I feel so much stronger now to deal with them and you’ve helped me to actually like myself. I learned things change quicker if you’re kind to yourself than if you’re impatient. I hope I remember that.”

Kath

“I saw Gabrielle for around two years, usually on a weekly basis. Working with her throughout that time benefitted me immensely and my mental wellbeing has been markedly improved. She is empathic and an exceptional listener, I found it easy to open up to her without fear of judgement. Thanks to her guidance and skilled counselling techniques we were able to delve deeply, but safely, into any underlying issues, some of which had been affecting me for years. This enabled a better understanding of myself which helped me make better decisions in my own life and have a greater awareness of my emotions, reactions and general state of mind. I would recommend Gabrielle without hesitation.”
